Sandcastle Constructors, Inc.
Nothing says more about a builder than the homes he builds. The father and son team of Ellis and Tommy Smith, Sandcastle Constructors, thrives on this aspect of their business philosophy. Celebrating their 25th business anniversary, the Smiths have been creating multi-million dollar masterpieces in Coastal South Carolina and Georgia since 1988. With degrees in civil/structural engineering and over 60 years of combined experience, they handle difficult and demanding projects with ease.
Meticulous attention to detail is paid to every aspect of their projects, which is one of several reasons why Sandcastle is chosen time and again to produce extraordinary works. In addition to constructing new ‘Castles’, they can transform existing ones. From one room to an entire home – inside and out – they do it all.
“Our former clients are now our friends,” Tommy said, “their friendship was won through trust and confidence that choosing Sandcastle was one of the best decisions they ever made.” Along with their team of craftsmen and suppliers, they are wholeheartedly committed to their clients’ demands for nothing less than excellence. “We handle each project personally because building is more than hammers and nails. It’s all the nuances that others may overlook.”
Each new home is a network of strong partnerships among the owner, architect, builder, project manager, subcontractors, and interior designers. The majority of Sandcastle’s subcontractors have worked for them continuously since the company was created, and that strong commitment has served to build an internal network that is rare in today’s fast paced construction world.
Sandcastle Constructors is known for their mega-mansions, and the featured house does more than just raise that bar.Located ocean front in Sea Pines Plantation, the home was built for Jill and Sam Hamacher from St. Louis, Missouri, where Sam is president of Harbour Group, a private equity company.
The house was designed through the collaborative efforts of Group 3 Designs, the Hamachers (with a list of very explicit desires), Sandcastle Interiors, and Sandcastle Constructors. They were each striving to provide the atmosphere the Hamachers were seeking – a combination of sophisticated elegance with a ‘let your hair down’ feel of a casual beach house.
For professional guidance, owner Jill Hamacher turned to well-known Interior Specialist, Dorsey Smith, co-owner of Sandcastle Interiors. “Jill had great ideas and knew exactly what she was looking for, even before actual construction began,” Dorsey said. “That made my job easy and working with Jill was one of the more enjoyable projects with which I’ve ever been involved.”
If you are looking for experienced constructors who are not afraid of your complicated design, and who will provide the absolute best in project management, look no further than Sandcastle Constructors.
